Definition – What does Chyavanprash mean?
Chyavanprash is a traditional Ayurvedic herbal jam, used to promote rejuvenation and improve the functioning of the immune system. Chyavanprash is particularly good for those with pitta dosha, since its tridoshic formula stimulates digestive fire (agni) without aggravating pitta. It is also useful in helping to balance kapha and vata.
The primary ingredient in Chyavanprash is Amalaki, a sour-tasting gooseberry like fruit which is high in antioxidants.
